Guidelines and procedure for GGSIPU admission and CET Examination

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University or Indraprastha University is well reputed and critically acclaimed state university located in Delhi setup in 1998 by the Government of Delhi. It was ranked 66 among the Indian universities by the National institute ranking framework in 2019. There are about 118 colleges affiliated to GGSIPU. Admission into the university is based upon the marks obtained in 12th class and the score based upon the Common Entrance Test or more commonly known as CET.

The university holds CET for many of its programs and admission are made strictly based on the scores of it but in 2019 slight changes were made in admission schemes when national level entrance exams were considered for some of the programs such as for admission to B.Techits is JEE-Main exam, for MBA it is CAT exam and for MCA, BA/BA-LLB, and LLM too and separate CET exams are not held for these courses. The university holds CET for other courses and Ph.D. as well. The forms for admission and applications for CET can be applied by the candidates every year in February.

IPU CET eligibility differs for Undergraduate and postgraduate courses for all levels. The minimum qualification for UG courses is 50% marks in 10+2 board exams and the age limit should not be more than 21 years or less than 18 years of age. Similarly for PG courses the eligibility criteria for CET differs where the minimum qualification for PG courses is 50% marks in graduation with an age limit of minimum 21 years old. It is very much necessary that the candidate must have had English as a subject in class 12th with being passed in it.

The CET application will be accepted only based on these eligibility criteria and upon the acceptance of application it is the CET exam that counts for admission to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The scores of the CET exams will be combined and upon result declaration CET ranks will be provided. After that candidates need to enroll for online counseling providing all their documents which include CET admit card and rank card, mark sheets and certificate of 10th and 12th class, category certificate, CET registration slip, character certificate, and passport size photos. Online counseling will analyze your rank and eligibility and assign the college based upon ranking and availability, of course, the candidate can then freeze his seat with payment of admission fee through Demand Draft made to the university.

The next step is that the candidates who have completed the process need to report to their respective colleges with their complete documents where the verification f the documents will take place and the admission will be sealed. Candidates also need to take the form of a medical certificate that is available on the university website during the time of verification of documents. The whole process of counseling is done online and if the candidate wishes to choose another college then they need to drop their available seat and opt for next round of counseling after three rounds of online counseling, the seats that are left for admission are made available to candidates through the offline or spot counseling, where all documents are to be submitted and college seats are made available after verification, it is the last stage of the admission for candidates all seats are filled up by the end of this process.
