TISS, Hyderabad Students organizes a Lecture on “Ambedkar and Nation”

On 14th of April, Students of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad organized Ambedkar and Phule Memorial Lecture -2018 under the banner of Social Protection Cell, On the Occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Birth Anniversary.

The theme of the lecture was “Ambedkar and Nation” and it has been delivered by Well Known Dalit Activist Dr.Santosh Raut, He is  Assistant Professor at Department of Aesthetics and Philosophy, EFLU, and Chaired By Dr. Murali Krishna, Chairperson Social Protection Cell.

The delivered lecture was inspiring and enlightening based on the known and unknown facts related to Ambedkar’s life and his contribution to the Nation. Dr. Raut has also spoken about the contemporary India and atrocities on Dalits and Religious Minorities. Further, he has given his comments on “Saffronization of Ambedkar” and adoption of Ambedkar to by different political parties as an icon of marginalized section of the society for their vote bank politics.

According to Dr. Raut, Ambedkar was the firm believer of non-violence and supporter of the justice through constitutional means. The memorial lecture covered the most of the aspects of Ambedkar’s life and his countless efforts to establish a just India society.
