One week MHRD- GIAN course on “Advances in Power Electronics & Renewable Energy sources” has completed at Jamia Millia Islamia,New Delhi. Dr. Ahteshamul Haque, (Asst Professor and a Senior Member of IEEE) was the course coordinator of this programme welcomed guests and presented the report card. He informed that total 78 candidates have registered for this course. The participants were from JMI, AMU, NIT Srinagar, NIT- Patna, MNNIT- Allahabad, Uttarakhand Technical University, Gautam Budhha University, KIET, NPTI- Faridabad, BSES etc. In addition, few participants were from Libya, Iran, Yemen, Egypt.
Dr. Haque thanked Prof. Akhtar Kalam of Victoria Univ, Australia- The Expert faculty for his innovative and interactive lectures. He also welcomed Mr. Sohail Akhtar- Advisor, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Govt of India, who was the chief guest of the valedictory function. Dr. Haque welcomed Mr. Naiyyer, Deputy Directory in CBI. He also welcomed Dr. A. A. A. Faizi- Controller of Examinations, Prof. Aman Jairajpuri – Nodal Office of GIAN at JMI and Dr. Khursheed Akram-Section Head, Applied Science & humanities.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kalam appreciates the active participation of students during the course. Prof. Kalam thanked MHRD and Jamia Millia Islamia for inviting him under GIAN course. He also suggested students do hardware based real projects, just simulation work is not enough to meet the challenges faced by the humanity.
Mr. Sohail Akhtar, Who was the chief guest of the function, thanked Dr. Haque for inviting him as a chief Guest. He said Lenin in 1917 said energy generation is a social work and now in 2017 we are working on it. He assured full support from MNRE for innovative works in the area of Renewable energy and Power Electronics.
Dr. Faizi thanked Prof. Kalam for enlightening the students with his valuable knowledge. Prof. Aman Jairajpuri also appreciates the students for active participation and thank the expert faculty for accepting the invitation to come at JMI under MHRD GIAN course.
The participants commented that the course was very well organized and they are delighted and feel proud to be the part of this course. Meeting ended with vote of thanks.
