DU Admissions 2018: Delhi University registers 185K UG applications this year so far

Delhi University (DU) has registered over 185K Undergraduate courses (UG) for academic session 2018-19. The most applications are from Delhi followed by Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar and Jharkhand respectively. The online registration for UG courses in DU started from May 15 and will go on till June. The cut off for first round will be announced on June 19th and subsequent cut offs later on. After the announcement students will be given a three day time for document verification approval of admission and payment of fee. The fifth and the last cut-off will tentatively come on July 12.

Registrations for UG on merit base have crossed over 1,15,000 and entrance-based applications being more than 45,500. The total male applicants number is close to 77,000 and total women applicants is close to 65,000. While there are more than 35 applicants registered under the other category.

According to the DU official, there are more than 90,000 registrations from the students of CBSE. More than 8,000 registrations are from UP Board while more than 5,000 from ISC, followed by other boards. Subject wise BA (Hons) English still top the chart followed by BA (Hons) Economics, BA(Hons) Political Science and then BCom (Hons) respectively.

Delhi University is also planning to put up all data regarding admissions on its portal very soon. This is said to bring more transparency and accountability in the system.
