The run also included 90 students from a government school in Dhaur village of Jhajjar district in Haryana. This school has been adopted by Peregrine Guarding under their CSR initiative. Peregrine has been consistently working for last 5 years to upgrade the infrastructure & education standards of this school to bring them at par with private school. The endeavor has been to also upgrade the level of education so that the children can compete with their peers in public forum.

The marathon encompassed two routes of distance 5 km and 3km respectively. The flag-off ceremony began at 6:15 A.M, where Edgard D. Kagan, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy in India, Greg Levin, Senior Regional Security Officer, U.S Embassy in India and Brig. Rajan Oberoi, Global CEO, Peregrine addressed the participants highlighting the strengthening bond of Americans with Indians when it comes to ensuring a high level of overseas security. Being a proud sponsor of such an appreciable initiative taken by OSAC, I would like to thank U.S Embassy in India & OSAC, Delhi Chapter for providing us with an opportunity to sponsor the run for health; run for fun. It is indeed a pleasure to be associated with this one-of-a-kind initiative as it also promotes Indo-American bond.” said Brig. Rajan Oberoi, Global CEO, Peregrine.

Soon after the marathon was flagged off at 6:30 A.M., kids, youths and senior citizens demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout the run encouraging each other to keep moving. All the participants crossed the finishing line with flying colors at 7:30 A.M., while six govt. school students were the first ones to brace the tape.

This was a well-run event where we spent a good time with our families and friends and even formed new alliances with fellow participants. I’m looking forward to participating in next chapter of the DS Run.”  said one of the runner in the Marathon.
