DU Admissions: Know the step by step procedure of admissions in Delhi University

DU is on its way to test the patience of the students. Delaying the admission process might give more time to make up their mind for the desired courses, but parents and students want to achieve the degrees from the desired university, University of Dreams, Delhi University.
Before, you sit down to check the cut-offs and prepare yourself to take admission in the college, here is a procedure which you must follow.
 

Grab your course:

You have to choose a course and find it’s eligibility criteria in different colleges of DU. It’s better to check the cut-off of the last years to get a fair idea.

Online registration

You need to get registered on the official Delhi University’s website and upload all relevant documents. After the registration is over, an acknowledgement slip and form number will be generated. Take the printout of the acknowledgement slip.

Studying the cut-offs

Once DU releases the first cut-off, which is on 23rd June, students have to login through their registered ID and select the colleges in which they wish to get admission. Remember to take a printout of the acknowledgment slip.

Going to the college

Go to the college you applied for, along with the acknowledgement slip and relevant documents like 10th and 12th Board certificates including migration certificate and other documents if any. Keep in mind that the admission will be done within three days of the cut-off declaration. Also do not forget to carry passport size photographs.

Getting verified

 Your submitted documents will be verified by the concern officials. If everything is found correct, your documents will be sent for further official purposes. Once all formalities are done, you’ll receive admission slip signed by the college principal. This is a kind of small confirmation of the admission.

Online payment of fees

 An online payment link will be generated and the student has to submit the college fee through neft or net banking within 48 hours. Once the fee is submitted, a new acknowledgement slip will be generated and the admission of the candidate in the college will be confirmed.

What if a student wants to change the college, even after the admission?

This quite a rare case!
But it’s crucial too; and many students are unaware of the official procedure. In many cases, after the declaration of the second/subsequent cutoff list, students who already have taken admission on the basis of the first/ previous cutoff list wish to change the college. Therefore, for all those students, here is the how-to-do procedure:
  • Approach the college where you have taken admission through the previous cutoff list.
  • Report the admission cancellation through online portal.
  • Collect back all the original documents submitted in the college and note that none is kept by them.
  • Only after the admission is cancelled, proceed to the desired selected college for admission.
  • Or you can also register/reserve your seat at the second college by buying their prospectus and admission form. This might be a point of insecurity in the heads of many parents and students. Go there and apply for the admission in the desired course.
 Note that this cancellations and re-admission has to be done in the gap of 3 days.
