According to WHO, 3 out of 10 people in need of blood don’t get it, therefore BloodConnect was found on the belief that if an additional 2% of the country’s young adults donated blood twice a year, the requirement would be met. Aiming to translate the spirit of Independence into a commitment to a better society, BloodConnect hosted their week-long Annual Event campaign “Khoon Chala” from 1st to 8th August, 2015 at Sri Sathya Sai International Center New Delhi

Who else could have been a better choice when it came to inspiring youngsters towards the cause than Kanan Gill, one of India’s most celebrated youth icons? To infuse young Indians with a sense of commitment, BloodConnect teamed up with Kanan to hold a massive blood donation campaign that motivated youth to do their bit in solving blood shortage in the country. Kanan’s wit and humor combined in a very right measure managed to keep the laughter ringing among the audience.

During the week-long campaign, BloodConnect hosted multiple activities, including 12 blood donation camps across different cities, collecting more than 1000 unit of blood. They also hosted a Twitter selfie contest throughout the week to spread the spirit of blood donation amongst the youth. Each winner received tickets to the concert, which drew over 1500 fans.
