AMU suspends two employees for illegal money transaction

ALIGARH March 28:

The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University has placed under suspension two employees, Mr. Hafiz Mohd. Umar, MTS (Kitchen Attendant), Nadeem Tarin Hall and Mr. Mohd. Mahshar Alam, LDC (Accounts), Internal Audit Office, pending inquiry, initiating disciplinary proceedings against them. Umar and Mahshar were found involved in a case of illegal money transaction which amounted to gross misconduct.

Meanwhile, Chief Vigilance Officer, Prof. Anis Ismail, who is also the Dean, Students’ Welfare, has issued an advisory to general people urging them to “report to the Chief Vigilance Officer on his numbers 0571-2700018 and 09837000601, if anyone asks for cash or kind in exchange of any work related to admission or job or award of any contract in Aligarh Muslim University”. The advisory assured that the “identity of the reporting person will be kept strictly confidential”.
 
The above suspended employees, who have been asked not to leave Aligarh without obtaining prior permission of the competent authorities, will be paid subsistence allowance as per rules of the University.
