Two suspects arrested for death threat to JNU student activists Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khaild.

On Sunday night two suspects were capitulated by police for sending a life cease notice to JNUSU President Khaniya Kumar and student activist Umar Khalid. The letter was found on Thursday conveying the message of death with a loaded gun in a Delhi Transport Corporation bus between the route of JNU campus and inter-state bus terminal. The letter meant to behead the two activist for the involvement in the controversy surrounding the university in February.

The two suspect identifies as Sulabh and Saurabh, were arrested in Delhi under the provision of the Arms Act and charged with criminal intimidation and conspiracy, Romil Baniya Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) stated that court had remanded them for two day custody. Kumar’s security had been increased by the Delhi police, PTI reported.

Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena Chief, Amit Jain, the elder brother of Saurabh who is seen as a main culprit of the case. Jain, who already had threatened to slay Kumar in a Facebook post, is believed one to write a letter. The letter and gun in the bus was kept by the two culprits Sulabh and Saurabh. Police has started rolling out raids in the Delhi-National capital Region to detain Jain, who reportedly has absconder on Friday, furthered by Baniya.
