Perhaps what has managed to pique the interest in the university circles further is the fact that defeating tradition, the department of computer science in addition to being shared by the MCA and PGDCA students, also houses students from the field of Bioinformatics giving it full points in the scale of the variety in events that is being offered.

“Our fest has students belonging to both Computer Science and Bioinformatics coming together and offering ideas and efforts unique to them and we think that is undoubtedly one of the main reasons for Teknothon already being a talking point.” says Salman Khan the coordinator Teknothon 2k15.

The tech-fest has contests belonging to a wide range of themes alluring to students with different interests. Whether it be LAN gaming, Gully Cricket, Treasure Hunts, Coding Games, Photography events or even the Dance competition, everyone seems to have found some or the other connecting point they can relate to.

For photography student and amateur documentary filmmaker Zainab Mohammad, the event is about reinventing the age old tried and tested clichés. “Every fest has a photography competition nowadays. But I like the way how Teknothon has reinterpreted the event”, she says about ‘Me, My Selfie, My College’ the photography contest where you have to click a selfie relating you with the university campus. But for those who want to stick to the conventional good old Polaroid, there is also a mainstream photography event called Unexpected Stills.

Having launched a dedicated website along with an entertaining promotional video, the fest organizers are leaving no stone unturned in effectively marketing their event. Invites have been extended to college students all over Delhi and if they are to be believed, the registrations uptill the point of publication of this article has surpassed all expectations. The organizers though, have decided to go on with accepting more registrations uptill the day of the fest. They maintain that they had expected such a response owing to the success of the fest in its previous years.

All said and done, it’s a tired but excited Teknothon team waiting for the start of their fest hoping that their efforts for the last three months have paid off. Looking just at the overwhelming response the fest has managed to garner, one can confidently assume that the team is going to have two long and busy days ahead of them.
