Students of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies organized Swine Flu Awareness Campaign in Delhi

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies ,New Delhi:

“WE FOR PEOPLE”, an NGO by the students of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies,aims for empowering lives organized its awareness drive for the increasing epidemic of swine flu in the city on Sunday , 25th April 2015 at Paschim vihar , Vikaspuri and Dwarka sec – 3 .

The team of volunteers from the NGO went to these areas and discussed about the reasons and causes of swine flu. The volunteers went to the slums as well as the elite residential areas of the locations and invited their questions for better understanding about the issue. They advised the people to visits the doctors if they notice the symptoms of swine flu for more than 3 days and get the test done through the authorized govt. Centres. Swine flu is preventable and they should take precautions also not panic immediately.

They provided them all the necessary information regarding how to deal the situation of this disease which includes precautions to stay safe including Cover your face while coughing or sneezing and make sure people around you in office or home also follow this. Maintain a optimal level of personal hygiene. Always wash your hands before or after eating and particularly after returning from a public place .Wear surgical masks, if your city/area is swine-flu endemic. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Get enough sleep of 8 hours every night to keep your immune system strong and ready to fight infection. Keep your body hydrated by drinking water of about 8-10 glasses daily. This will help flush toxins out of your body while maintaining good moisture and mucous production in your sinuses. Eat whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and other vitamin-rich foods to keep your body strong and nourished.One should only take these after a doctor’s prescription as indiscriminate use could lead to resistance to the virus.
