Maharaja Agrasen College organized its Annual Cultural Festival

Maharaja Agrasen College,Delhi:
The Cultural Council of Maharaja Agrasen College organized Yuvaan-2014, its annual cultural festival on 28th February & 1st March, 2014 under the Convenor-ship of Dr Deepa Sharma. The two-day cultural extravaganza was inaugurated by Dr Sunil Sondhi, Principal, Maharaja Agrasen College and Ustad Kamal Sabri. Speaking during the inaugural function, Dr Sondhi pointed out at the need for Indian universities to promote indigenous cultural traditions and values through holding of such cultural functions as was being done by some of the foremost institutions of the world like Harvard and Oxford.
Yuvaan-2014 recorded path-breaking participation from students based in Delhi NCR in several competitive events which included Classical Music, Classical Dance, Creative Writing, Debate, Folk Dance, Group Dance, Stage Theatre and Quiz. One of the major attractions at the festival included Battle of Bands which saw 7 college bands compete against one another to grab the ultimate prize of Best College Band. This award was bagged by Conundrum from PGDAV college.
To promote cross-country cultural exchange, SPIC MACAY Chapter of Maharaja Agrasen College held a Norwegian Instrumental Music concert by ‘Karl Seglem Acoustic Quartet’ during Yuvaan 2014. The Norwegian artists who graced upon the occasion included Karl Seglem (Saxophone), Andreas Ulvo (Keyboard), Sigurd Hole (Bass) and Jonas Howden Sjoevaag (Drums). Another prominent star attraction at the festival was the Manipuri Folk Dance Recital by Panthoibi Jagoi Marup.
