IEEE-IGIT Successfully organized its annual technical fest

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women(IGDTUW),Delhi:

Department of Electronics & Communication,Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women(IGDTUW) in association with IEEE Student Branch successfully organized its 9th edition of annual Technical cultural festival “ IMPULSE’15” which was held from March 27 to March 28, 2015 under the guidance of branch mentor- Mr. Akash Tayal, Asst. Prof. and branch counselor Prof. Ashwni Kumar.. The much awaited fest brought to the students of Delhi a platform to showcase their talents in all the diverse fields possible.The first edition of the festival was organized in the year 2007.

Impulse was formally inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp by Prof. Nupur Prakash,Vice Chancellor,on March 27.The fest kicked off with an Inaugural Ceremony cum felicitation ceremony where Students with distinctive technical achievements from all departments were felicitated by honourable Vice Chancellor and Registrar IGDTUW.Impulse saw an enthusiastic participation in all the competitions held, from prestigious colleges like SRM, DTU, MAIT, to name a few.

The first day of the fest saw formal events like Trail-O-Bot ( a race of ROBOTS) , Sprint-o-Bot, Sphinx, Tech-Yatra. Trail-O-Bot was a big hit. The fest also had several informal events as FFF Flim Furkey ( A bollywood quiz) , Blind Dating and Inkspired.After an exuberant first day, the second day of Impulse flagged off with ArduinoMite on The World Arduino Day. ArduinoMite was a platform for budding engineers to showcase their Arduino based projects. Team Robolution of IGDTUW also displayed their Badminton playing robots which uses Arduino Mega microcontroller.

TPP – technical paper presentation competition was also held on the second day of the fest. Also Word Attack( Debate), and KalamSe ( a poetry writing completion) was held for people who can put thoughts to words.Informal events for the day included Unlock the Sherlock.The Gamers were not left behind as we had LAN-GAMING on the final day of the fest.The fest saw a footfall of 2,000 people from various colleges from all over Delhi NCR and was undeniably a grand success.
