DU Admissions 2018: Trials for sports quota to start from 22 June

“Padhoge Likhoge Banoge Nawaab, Kheloge Koodoge Banoge Kharaab” is one of the biggest lies told in our childhood. The truth is that if you’re good at something, you’ll manage to earn anything. So, if you’re a sportsperson there are chances you’ll end up getting a good college in Delhi University. The trials for sports quota will take place from 22nd to 29th June.

The admission will be provided on the basis of marks secured in trials and experience certificates. The trials for 33 games offered by the University will be centralized and will take place at 22 locations, most colleges and university stadiums, including the university polo ground, multipurpose hall. Some famous locations on the list are RK Academy, DU Rugby Stadium, and Chhuatrasal Stadium. This is the third consecutive time that centralized sports trials are being conducted.

The director of Delhi University Sports Council said that “This year, we have asked students to upload only one ‘best’ certificate while registering for sports trials. There is also the latest policy where trials will be conducted based on the positions in a sport or game”. Like- Medium Pacer, Spinner in Cricket or Butterfly, Freestyle in Swimming.

The candidates are advised to bring a printed copy of the online undergraduate admission form and report half an hour before the scheduled time for the trials. Applicants also need to bring proper playing kits, including shuttlecocks and balls with them. Moreover, a complete list of merit will be released on the DU website before 6th of July, followed by documents verification and approval of admissions at colleges on July 10th and July 11th respectively.

The sports admission lists will come out on three different dates i.e first sports admission list will come out on July 9, second on July 14 and the third on July 19. Although, vacant seats will be filled after the third list.
