DU Admissions 2018 : DU only to accept Winners under ECA Quota

Students seeking admission at Sports and ECA Quota will now have to produce winner Certificate in order to get admission at one of most prestigious universities of Country, University of Delhi under the category.

The Delhi University till last year consider participation certificate of State Level Sports but in order to make it more transparent and credible, Delhi University from this year will only accept the winner Certificate. An Official of University of Delhi said ‘Cross Checking Participation in any Sports at State Level was quite difficult hence we will only consider the admission under this category only if the aspirant has secured a position’.

The First, Second and third Position of any sports hosted by Sports State Association, School Boards or as per University rules will get 16, 14 and 12 credits respectively.

The Delhi University has 33 such sports category and every college reserves 5% seats under the Sports and Extracurricular activities (ECA) quota.

Moreover, students applying under this category can upload three best certificates online from this time unlike last year when Admission portal was designed to accept only one document.

The Delhi University gives a 60% weightage to trail while 40% to Certificates while considering an aspirant under sports and Extracurricular activities (ECA) quota. Last date to apply in Delhi University is 7th June.
