AMU Professor suspended for gross misconduct

ALIGARH October 26:

The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University has suspended Mr. S. Mustafa K.Q. Zaidi, Associate Professor, Department of Library and Information Science, with immediate effect, pending enquiry.

Mr. Zaidi has been charged of gross misconduct and an enquiry has been instituted against him. He shall be paid subsistence allowance during the period of his suspension as per rules of the University. He has to submit claims every month through the Chairman, Department of Library and Information Sciences.

Earlier, the Executive Council, in its meeting held on October 20, 2015 had charged Zaidi of dereliction of duty and misbehavior with the Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah (Retd.) when he met him on October 16. The Executive Council had authorized the Vice Chancellor to take necessary action on these charges.

Following this, on October 20, a show cause notice was issued to Mr. Zaidi asking him to respond to the charges by afternoon of October 23.
