AMU prohibits use of mobile phones in meetings

ALIGARH August 18:

The Aligarh Muslim University has advised all its staff members, officers and members of various statutory bodies of the University including the University Court, Executive Council and Academic Council, not to bring their mobile phones in meetings as they cause disturbances in the discussions.
In a circular issued by the Deputy Registrar, Council Section, Mr. Ataat Husain, it has been clarified that in order to avoid disturbances, “it will be ensured that members, while attending meetings convened under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, will not bring their mobile phones”.
According to the notification, the Vice Chancellor has further directed that proper arrangement should be made for depositing mobile phones at the venue of the meetings.
