AMU students organise “Dental Health Camp” on World Disability Day

Aligarh based NGO “SOCH beyond the imagination” in collaboration with Ahmadi School Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh organised Dental Check up camp on World Disability Day in Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged.Around hundreds of students were being examined and treated by the team of Doctors. They were taught the proper method of brushing and how to maintain a better Oral Hygiene. Students were enthusiastic and during examination interacted with doctors and share there hobbies.

Mrs Firdaus Rehman Principal Ahmadi School inaugurated the camp. In her inaugural address she said that SOCH is doing works which are really beyond imagination. She said that she has never seen this level of commitment in student based organisation. She appreciated the efforts made by team SOCH. She also informed that no student has to bear even a single penny for the education or hostel or meal, All the funds are provided by university itself.

“Its our duty to work for those in need and on World Disability Day we have organised Free Dental Camp and also distributed Tooth Paste & Brush free.” said Dr Danish Suhail, General Secretary of SOCH.

Team Leader Dr Abdul Aleem who is currently a MDS Student in ZADC AMU said that he and his team is very happy that they got chance to serve Visually Challenged Students of our own University.

Doctors & Hygienist who took part in successfully organising the camp were Dr Abdul Aleem, Dr Danish Suhail, Dr Nazar Nasir,Dr Sana Akhtar,Dr Kainat Fatima,Dr Maherukh Khanam,Dr Abhishek Singh, Mumtaz Husain and Adnan Mashkoor . Adil Naseer,Sartaj Alam,Furqan Ahmad,Amood Gulzar,Mir Akhtar,Zaid Malik,Wakkas Raza,Abhishek,Tayyab Shahid,Shawez Khan were the Volunteers of SOCH who worked really hard in organising the camp.

“As per the information Aligarh Muslim University is the only University running School for the Visually Challenged Students.” said Dr Saleem Mohammad Khan President of SOCH. He also added that our aim is to make a true sense of “Jo Abr Yehan se Utthega, Wo Sare jahan pe barsega” by contributing to society at a large level.
