For the third consecutive year, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) of Jamia Millia Islamia has been ranked at the top position while the university’s Faculty of Law and Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics have been placed at 6th and 7th positions respectively by the Outlook Magazine in the list of India’s top professional institutions.
AJK MCRC which has produced media and film personalities like Barkha Dutt, Maria Shakil, Kabir Khan and Kiran Rao, has got 176 points in the parameter of academic excellence.
Faculty of Law has secured 147 points while Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics has bagged 229 points in academic excellence.
Expressing his happiness over AJK MCRC maintaining its top position, its Director, Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed said that this is due to the hard work of the faculty members and focussed training of students.
Faculty member, Dr. Sabina Kidwai, said that the ranking has put greater responsibility on the institution to maintain its standard of education. “We today have a far greater obligation to the media world to produce sensitive thinking film makers and journalists”, she said.
