A Plate of Joy: initiative of students to teach and feed the children

New Delhi: The students of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Pitampura, took an initiative along with Chug It, a restaurant located in Punjabi Bagh, to teach and feed the children of Lakshay Child and Welfare Association, an NGO based in Peeragarhi.

The students accompanied by the chefs and the owner of the restaurant visited the NGO. Children and youngsters aged between 5 to 25 years were present at the spot. They were given a demonstration of how to prepare food in fast and easy manner and at the same time healthy too.

Beginning with some basic instructions on how to stay fit and keep oneself clean, the chef taught the children making meal for themselves in fast yet healthy manner. The prepared food was later served to them. Around 80 children could be found enjoying the meal.

The NGO, headed by Ms. Shobha Chaudhary, not only provides basic education to these children, but also helps them in enhancing other skills like sewing, crafts and embroidering. On this occasion, Ms. Shobha said, “It is indeed a great initiative by Chug it to come over and help the kids here in learning this much. We are open to such collaborations so that we together can give our best efforts in making a better tomorrow.”
