A country-made pistol and seven cartridges found in JNU campus

A bag containing a pistol and live cartridges was found on JNU campus on Sunday night, which is witnessing an agitation by a section of students over the disappearance of Najeeb Ahmed, a MSc Biotechnology student.
A black coloured bag was noticed by a security guard at around 2am, which contained a 7.65 pistol, seven cartridges and a screw driver, a senior police officer said.
A case under Arms Act has been registered against unknown persons and an investigation is ongoing, said the officer.

A section of JNU students has been agitating over the disappearance of Najeeb, whose mother and sister have also joined the protests on campus.
The 27-year-old student, a native of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, went missing on October 15 following an on-campus scuffle with alleged members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
