IGDTUW organized its first ever cultural fest

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women(IGDTUW) formerly known as IGIT ,organized its first ever cultural fest TAARANGANA’14 powered by Brij Events on 31st Jan and 1st Feb 2014.The first day saw gravity defying performances by dance teams hailing from colleges across Delhi and  NCR in the event Urban Thump.It was won by Mudra, the team from Jesus and Mary College. In  Anhad ,singers  left the audience in a trance . The electric mood of the fest was carried forward by the event Synnove, where the stage was set on fire by free style dance performances.Lilac Dreams, the fashion parade, witnessed inspiring designs by budding designers from different colleges. It was won by Poise, the team from Institute of Home Economics. The day was brought to an end by the much awaited DJ Night hosted by DJ Raja.

On the second day the main events commenced with the street play competition, Aaghaaz which was won by the team from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College. This was followed by Rangrezz, the folk dance competition which presented different colours of Indian diversity .College bands battled it out onstage in the event Knights of the Fall, deservingly won by Outdrone, the band from DTU. Simultaneously, Nautanki Unplugged, the monoacting competition, took place where aspiring actors were cheered on by the viewers. The second day concluded with spectacular performances by the Underground Music League and  the multi genre band TURKUSH. Then the DJ night was organized and DJ Raja rocked the floor yet another time. There were several  other events also which people really enjoyed like Mr. and Ms Taaranagana’14, blind dating ,paintball, etc. Students also got a chance to showcase their literary talents in events like debate, group discussion and JAM.All in all TAARANGANA’14 was a huge success and witnessed agreat footfall from 70+ colleges in Delhi –NCR region including colleges like DTU , NSIT, IIT Delhi, IIIT-Delhi and many other technical colleges apart from many DU colleges like JMC,IHE,Ramjas,Hansraj and many more.
