Why JNU is being degraded as an institution that produces “intellectual terrorist”?

It has been a year now, since JNU has become the site of heated controversies and debates and more importantly, being degraded as an institution that produces “intellectual terrorist”. While the attack from the fascist government still continues in various forms and dimensions, each time different groups come under their radar. These groups range from students, professors, guards and perhaps all those who associate themselves with this university. However more than anything it is the very idea of the university that is under threat, as space where free speech, discussion, and dissent exist. Where classrooms are not the only space of learning and where free thinking and rationality survive in their most evident and visible forms.

The most unfortunate aspect of this destruction is that it is materialized not by any outside agency but by the administration itself which seems to be acting on part of the current regime by carrying out anti student’s reforms in most brazing manner. These repeated attacks have not only created distrust among student communities instead have brought their intentions in light to common students which are that of killing social justice, democratic spaces, dissent and all that which is not conformist in nature.

Recently, some students were given notice, alleging them for disrupting AC meeting which seems to have passed UGC notification of attributing complete importance to the Viva Voce and making entrance only qualifying in nature. Even if these students have been given permission for registration their suspension has not been completely canceled and students are still continuing their protest against this Farman.  It seems that students will intensify their struggle against this arbitrary imposition against such unjust and
