Only two Indian universities ranked in the top 400 universities in world ranking

Education is the most powerful weapon by which we can change the world. But in India it is used more as a shield to cover the other deficiencies of Indian society. The list of rankings released on 22nd September 2016 by the ‘Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2016-17’ is a perfect a perfect example of it.

According to the world ranking, only two Indian universities have made it to the top 400 universities’ list which is the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay and as a shocker there is not even a single Indian University in the top 200 list. As an all-time ritual the Oxford University has topped the list yet again. These rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. It uses 13 calibrated performance indicators to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.

  1. There is Aligarh Muslim University in the list between 601 to 800 but writer missed it and didn’t mention the name while provided all the names from India.
