The Dramatics Society of Shri Ram College of Commerce organises “Histrionica”

The Dramatics Society of Shri Ram College of Commerce organised 16th edition of it’s annual performing arts festival “Histrionica”, from 19-22 February 2019. The first day witnessed 6 beautifully scripted stage plays from around Delhi University under “Charades” and were judged by a learned panel of 4, namely Rahul Bhuchar, Amit Tiwari, Simarpreet Singh and Pawan Sabharwal.
The second day was successfully completed by holding a comic session “Just For Laughs” with Kunal Kamra and Kumar Varun. The event marked its onset with the entry of Kumar Varun who was greeted by an awaiting audience. His stand-up session won the hearts of many. The fact that he was captivating enough for his audience was proven beyond doubt when no one left the ground inspite of the rain which started mid session. He was followed by Kunal Kamra, one of the most accomplished comedians today, whose entry made the event yet more lively and full of cheering up by the audience. Kunal Kamra gave another commendable performance of his life at SRCC. On the third day, “The Stage” saw one of the finest theatre artists in the campus, interacting with the budding enthusiasts in this field. Shishir Sharma, raised the “josh” among the audience and gave valuable advises on improving acting skills. The session was culminated by Mr Sharma’s recitation of a poem written by Bhavani Prasad Mishra. The third day also witnessed Sahil Verma as the next influential. He created an aura of gaiety with a pumping common-call followed by direction guidance to upcoming directors. The session ended with smiling faces awaiting the next season of college romance. An open mic event at the end lit up the day with mono-acting, slam poetry, music, magic and beat boxing to name some. The last day saw an overwhelming crowd for the street play event “Aahvaan”. It began with a common call followed by 8 energetic street plays on various social issues. The constructive feedback by Atul Satya Kaushik and Nishant Aggarwal was worth the wait. The fest came to an end with an amazing performance by the Rajasthani folk.
