SPORTSMAN OF THE CENTURY BIDS GOODBYE..

The boxing legend of all times Muhammad Ali ,74,passed away today at a hospital in US city of Phoenix ,after he was admitted on this Thursday. It is said that he was suffering from respiratory diseases, which happened due to the prolonged Parkinson syndrome from 1984 , which is a disease that commonly results from head trauma from activities related to sports such as boxing. Ali is known world widely not only as a champion in sports but also as a source of great inspiration, who even waged war against the racism which had strong roots during his time due ti which he was covered up with controversies and appraisals.He is one of the most recognized sports figure of the century and has been crowned as ‘SPORTSMAN OF THE CENTURY” by Sports illustrated and “SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE CENTURY” by BBC.
He was nicknamed as ‘THE GREATEST” for he was involved in several historical matches, who began his training at 12 years and at the age of 22 won the world heavyweight championship.He embraced Islam and converted to Sunni Islam in 1975 which eventually lead to the change in name from Cassius Marcellus Clay to Muhammad Ali.
Don King .who promoted Ali’s fights, remembers him in following words “its a sad day for life,man. I loved Muhammad Ali, he was my friend.Ali will never die. like Martin Luther King his spirit will live on, he stood for the world..
