Say Hi to the Architectural Genius in you! Apply for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) Today

Students who wish to pursue Architecture, it is time to buckle up. National Aptitude Test in Architecture or NATA is around the corner. All of you preparing to have a career in the field of Architecture, should be aware that National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is prescribed by the Council of Architecture as a compulsory criterion for taking admission to any Architectural College or course(s) in India. NATA is conducted by National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA) each year.

NATA is a national level examination to assess a candidate’s aptitude for admission to undergraduate courses in Architecture (5-year B.Arch degree) at all recognized institutions all over India. It evaluates an applicant in different areas such as drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, mathematics and general aptitude.

Who can Apply?

Before applying for NATA, you must be aware of the eligibility criteria that is decided by the conducting authority. It is compulsory for all the candidate to meet these conditions before filling NATA Application Form.

#1 Firstly, if you are a minimum of 17 years of age as on July 31, 2018, then you are eligible to apply.

#2 Secondly, you have passed 10+2 or equivalent/10+2 Diploma/International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of Schooling.

#3 Thirdly, you have passed the above examination with mathematics as one of the subjects and have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate.

If you are appearing candidate, then also you can apply for NATA.

How to Apply?

You can register for NATA through online mode only. NATA Application Form will be available to fill on the official website of NATA from the 1st week of January 2018 till the 1st week of February 2018.

You have to fill your personal details & upload your passport size photograph, left-hand thumb impression & signature in a specified format at the time of filling the form.

You will also have to pay the registration fee of INR 1250. Payment can be made through online or offline mode including debit card/credit card/net banking & e-Challan.

 

What is the pattern of NATA?

NATA is held in pen paper-based mode. The question paper comprises 60 questions that are divided into three sections, i.e. Mathematics, General Aptitude & Drawing.The question of Mathematics & General Aptitude are multiple choice questions. The duration of the exam will be three hours.

NATA test will be of 200 marks. For each correct answer, two marks are awarded to the candidates in Mathematics & General Aptitude test, while no marks are deducted for incorrect answer. If you will secure minimum 25% marks in MCQ portion (30 out of 120) & 25% marks in Drawing portion (20 out of 80), then you will get qualifying marks for NATA.

NATA Result

The result of NATA will be announced few weeks after the examination. You will be able to check your results from the official website. NATA result is published in three formats: marks secure out of 200, merit list, percentile score. The validity of NATA Score is one year only.

NATA offers a great opportunity for all those seeking a career in the architectural field. It has gained immense popularity over past few years. To meet the demands, the number of seats have also increased. Currently, about 24 thousand seats are offered in about 450 recognized institutions across the country, most of which accept NATA scores.
