Plantation drive launched in AMU

ALIGARH August 18: 

Yesterday on 18 August 2016,  A plantation drive was  initiated by in AMU schools which has been launched by the Department of Lands and Gardens,AMU to increase the green cover on the University campus. The plantation drive will be carried on up to 20th August 2016.

Yesterday Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah,The Vice Chancellor of AMU planted samplings in the premises of Senior Secondary School (Girls), AMU Girls School, Saiyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys) and Directorate of Schools.

Interacting with the students at Saiyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Lt. Gen. Shah urged them to make a daily habit of reading newspapers and magazines in addition to their regular studies and work hard to make a good career for them. He said that students must have a goal and a will to make it true.
Prof. Mohammad Gulrez Director of Schools watering a plantProf. Pervez Qamar Rizvi, Member Incharge, Department of Lands and Gardens said that about six thousand saplings have been planted under this drive and efforts are on to cover all Faculties, Departments of Study, Colleges, Schools and Halls of residence under this drive. He said that the plantation drive will continue until the target of maximum vegetation is achieved.

Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Director, Directorate of Schools was also present on the occasion. Maj. S. M. Mustafa, Principal, Saiyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys) welcomed the Vice Chancellor.
