More than 5000 admissions in DU after second cut-off

A day after the second cut-off was released by the University of Delhi, more than 5000 enrolled for admissions in various colleges of the University. Unlike, first cut-off there was no technical glitches faced by the students, as a result, the admission process went smoothly today. The first three days of admission process witness a record-breaking start as more than 15,000 admissions took place in a span of 72 hours.

According to an official statement, 2,388 students canceled their admissions as well. There were definitely better reasons to cancel admission but still, the admissions are almost seven times more than last year. Many colleges have closed their admission window for several courses as the seats were filled up in the first-cutoff itself.

As the cutoffs have declined for many courses, there is another provision for students who want to withdraw their admission and get into another or better college. The deputy dean of student’s welfare, Gurpreet Singh Tuteja even mentioned that “Students should first approach the college where they want to get admitted and confirm the cutoff. They should also confirm if their ‘best four’ score qualifies under this cutoff for the course they want. Sometimes students make mistakes in calculating the cutoffs, and some colleges have variable cutoffs for courses like BA programme. Once you cancel your admission, it can’t be revoked.”

The portal for admission was opened way back on 15th May and registrations were closed on 7th June but admission process is not a cup of cake. Students have to struggle for it a lot. However, the internet is a helping hand for everyone but a psychological pressure keeps on increasing until he/she gets enrolled in any college.
