MNRE sanctions three projects in the areas of Solar Energy and Power Electronics to Jamia

Dr. Ahteshamul Haque who works as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has bagged three major Renewable Energy Projects and Power Electronics.

 The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has sanctioned three projects of Rs. 3.0 Crore (Approx) to Dr. Haque in the area of Solar Energy and Power Electronics. The main objective of these projects is to develop complete single phase solar energy conversion system of various ratings and features, which can be used by the common man and for industry applications.This project is in addition to the ongoing project of MNRE of Rs. 1.06 Crores. Dr. Haque has already installed 1 kW capacity solar power at the terrace and the 50% electric load of Power Electronics lab is getting power from the installed solar plant.Mr. Haque has earlier worked with the Power Electronics R & D Units and several Multi-National Companies.  His areas of research include power quality improvements, smart grids, wireless power communication, hybrid vehicles, electric traction etc.
