Miranda House successfully organized its annual cultural festival “ Tempest 2015”

The students’ union of of Miranda House college of the University of Delhi successfully organized its annual cultural festival “ Tempest 2015” which was held from February 26 to February 28, 2015 . The much awaited fest brought to the students of Delhi a platform to showcase their talents in all the diverse fields possible.

The first day of the fest was majorly an in-house event day. The Hindi dramatics society of the college ANUKRITI organized its annual show ‘IZHAAR’. Many colleges such as Shaheed Bhagat Singh college, Hindu college, Kamla Nehru College and Hansraj College performed their stage plays. The competition was won by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College for their performance ILHAAM. The other major event of the day was the yard sale put up by ENACTUS society of the college. The sale had many items on display ranging from food stuff to clothing.The first day of the TEMPEST was full of energy just like a storm and the vigour and zeal of students across the city was seen on the campus of Miranda House. The first day of the fest was a huge success in terms of organisation as well as participation.

The second day of TEMPEST REFLECTIONS 2015, kicked off with various events organized by different societies of the college. Many colleges such as SGTB Khalsa, Lady Sri Ram College, Hansraj College, St Stephens’ college, Jesus and Mary College and many more from across the city registered themselves as participants at these events. From the poetry slam to the folk group dance competition organized, everything mesmerized the audience to the core. No sooner did the clock strike five than the hectic schedule of events came to an end and the college eagerly awaited for the band “SANAM”. Sanam Puri(lead vocalist), Samar Puri (lead guitar and vocal), Venky S. (bass guitar and vocals) and Keshav Dhanraj (drums) with their lively performance, made the crowd dance and sing to their compositions.

The musical night commenced with Sanam Puri entering the stage while singing his popular Bollywood hit ‘Ishq Bulaava’ followed by their own hit composition ‘Teri Aankhon Se’. They not only sung the latest hits but also sported the classical numbers such as ‘Lag Jaa Gale’ and ‘Yeh Chanchal Hawa’. The crowd swayed, pumped and sung along as the show proceeded.. The performances varied from romantic songs to pop numbers which kept the audience enthralled throughout the evening. Not only did the audience appreciate their performance but also their punctuality and everyone was left delighted.With so much of enthusiasm and vigour of the youth of the city- all at one place TEMPEST REFLECTIONS Day 2 was a huge success.And,like every other year, Miranda House gave many a night to remember.
