Meet these girls from DU and Jamia who are trying their luck in the MCD elections

Election for the Munical Corporation is scheduled to be held on April 23.So here is a list of female students from Delhi who are contesting the MCD polls and giving a tough fight to their competitor.

Abhipsa Chauhan
Abhipsa Chauhan a young girl of barely 22 is one of the youngest candidate in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. She is currently enrolled in Jamia Hamdard for the course B.Sc Medical lab technician.She is joint secretary of AISF(All India Students’ Federation) Delhi State.She has been keenly standing for oppressed section of society be issue of demolition of Kathputli Colony (Sadipur), Rohith Vemula, Najeeb Ahmad & so on.She is contesting from Paharganj ward(94) of North Delhi municipal corporation as CPI(communist party of India) candidate.She firmly believe in social justice, economic justice and Qaumi Ekta(national unity).She belong to a middle class family and so she knew the issues of that section in depth.

Kajal Sharma

Kajal  Sharma, a 21-year girl who is pursuing B.Com through IGNOU is the youngest candidate in the MCD polls. She is the candidate of new entrant Swaraj India from  Rani Bagh ward. She was just 17 years when she joined Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement “India Against Coruption.”

Leena Asiwal
21 Year old Leena Asiwal who is pursuing final year English (Hons) from  Delhi University’s School of Open Learning is contesting from Vikaspuri’s Ward no. 20 for the Aam Aadmi Party.She got involved in politics because of her father as her father is Vikaspuri Vidhan Sabha President of Aam Aadmi Party.Leena is the youngest candidate of AAP.

 

Megha

21-year-old Megha, a final year undergraduate student of Delhi University is contesting on the ticket of Swaraj India from Timarpur. She has a good support of slum dwellers As she is a jhuggi dweller herself and she has been been teaching children in Jhuggis for over a year.
