Meet this bowler from Jamia who took record 10 wickets in an inning but got unnoticed

Taking 10 wickets in an innings is one of those rare feats you may have heard of. Some of you might have even lived the ‘Kumble’ moment all those years ago. But have you ever heard of a bowler taking 10 wickets, without conceding a single run? Jamia’s Asif Mansoori achieved this extraordinary record recently in a club match against Uflex in November 2016 when Jamia defeated Uflex by 10 wickets chasing a short target of 43 runs.

In merely 4.3 overs, Mansoori rattled through the whole Uflex batting lineup, and didn’t concede a single run in the process. The match was played at the Bhopal Ground at Jamia Millia Islamia, where Mansoori, representing Jamia, achieved this feat. While taking ten wickets in an innings is a tremendous accomplishment, to achieve it without giving away a run is something completely unheard of at any level of cricket.

Mansoori has captained Jamia’s cricket team in the past, and been a part of many successful tournaments campaigns with the team. And with a bowling performance like this, he is sure to be leaving a lasting legacy in the university’s cricketing history.
