Joint Action Committee of Pondicherry University to hold a ‘Dharna’ on Thursday

The agitating associations, Pondicherry University Teachers’ Association (PUTA), PU Employees Association (PUOA) and PU Non-teaching Staff Welfare Association (PUNTSWA), under the name of Joint Action Committee (JAC) will be holding a ‘Dharna’ in Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on 18-06-2015 to draw the attention of the MHRD, the President and the PM towards the frauds committed by Mrs. Chandra Krishnamurthy. The JAC’s demand is ‘immediate removal of the Vice Chancellor’. FEDCUTA has also pledged their solidarity and will be joining them in the ‘Dharna’.

More than a dozen representations with solid evidences of mal-administration, incompetency, human rights violation, victimization, corruption, plagiarism, cheating and fraud committed by Mrs. Chandra Krishnamurthy have been submitted by either JAC or PUTA to the MHRD, the President (Visitor of the University) and the PM. A Fact Finding Committee submitted its report in the month of February. More than three months have passed but no action has been taken by the Ministry for any of the misdeeds of Mrs. Chandra Krishnamurthy.

The frustrated stake holders of the University have been running pillar to post for justice, but these higher offices turned a blind eye. They are holding a ‘Dharna’ in a hope that their voices will be heard this time.
