JNU Suspension row: Student on Indefinite Hunger strike picked up by the Delhi Police

In a recent turn of the events, Dileep Yadav, one of the nine students suspended by JNU administration on the pretext of  “disrupting “AC meeting has been picked up by the police after three days of commencement of his hunger strike. He has been demanding for implementation of Naffey Committee recommendations for reducing the viva voce marks, reduction of the fee hike in the admission process, minority deprivation points among many other things to ensure social justice against the caste based discrimination which continues to happen in the admission process.

Since he has been on the strike without even water, declaring it to be a battle till his last his condition was persistently deteriorating from yesterday night. He was advised by the doctor to immediately put an end to his strike but to no avail. As a result, he has been picked up by the police. In response, JNUSU without any delay has taken the active decision of marching to the Vasant Kunj police station demanding his return to the campus.
