Jamia’s Zakir Hussain Library opens new Research Room for Scholars and Teachers

Jamia Millia Islamia’s Dr. Zakir Hussain Library is one of the best things about the University. Hundreds of students from undergraduate, postgraduate and other courses use the University library and the facilities provided by it for educational purposes.

Keeping in mind the interests of students, especially the Research scholars of the university, a new Research Room has been inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Talat Ahmad on Monday. This Research Room can accommodate 100 research scholars and teachers simultaneously. It has been furnished with comfortable chair and table facilities and will remain open from 9:00 am till midnight for the entire week. It is air-conditioned and equipped with WiFi and sockets for charging electronic gadgets like laptops. It has also been installed with 72 lockers so that teachers and scholars can use it to keep their belongings.

At the inaugural function attended by the University Librarian, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, Faculty and students, the Vice Chancellor revealed that the new section in the library was opened so that the rising number of scholars and teachers can benefit from it and don’t face any lack of facilities that might affect their research work. The Vice-Chancellor referred to the researchers as the most significant part of the University and also promised to extend his support by ensuring that if the scholars make best use of the facility and write commendable research papers, it will be published in top international journals.
