Jamia students to revive its founders’ history

Jamia Millia Islamia is near to celebrate its 96th foundation day on October 29, 2016.Jamia has played a very crucial role in freedom struggle of India and its Journey was started since October 29, 1920 in Aligarh during Non-Cooperation movement. After many hurdles and financial crisis it became a central university.

As people today forget the role of Jamia in freedom struggle of India, a group of students from Jamia Millia Islamia is taking an initiative to bring forth the history of Jamia to students and the masses.

JSF-Jamia Students Forum, an independent student organization is all set to start its study circle on alternate Friday from October 14, 2016 which will be known as “Jauhar study circle”. The “Jauhar Study Circle” is named after Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, one of the founders of Jamia Millia Islamia.

Initiative of starting “Jauhar Study Circle” has been taken by the students to promote ideologies and thoughts of Jamia’s founders and the culture of meaningful discussion among students, promote the knowledge about the history of Jamia Millia Islamia and its founders, how it is relevant to the present scenario and to initiate debates on socio-economic-political and cultural impacts along with the issues that have been impacting students fraternity.
Jamia
