What Girls Speak about the Historic Rakshabandhan

I feel honoured and proud to send these rakhis to our soldiers. It is because of them that we are sitting here comfortably while they are away from their families, guarding our borders. We salute their spirit. God Bless them!

It was actually nice knowing our college students as the one initiating much broad mindedness among the public now ,celebrating every festival of India as a common indian citizen .I would like to add that whoever had this idea of tieing rakhi to the soldiers is a human made of real kind soul remembering our brothers at the border not only in Independence Day but also on the other days of our festives as they too want to celebrate our nation’s every festivals as common people do.

Through today’s rakhi event organised by Jamia, i as a student feel very proud to send rakhis on the eve of Raksha Bandhan to our soldiers working day and night ensuring our safety! My heartiest respect and love to all our soldiers! -Lukumoni Sonowal

Personally feel that this was a great initiative by Jamia. Most of our guards are away from their ‘houses’, but I am glad we could bring them near their homes.
These are people who take care of us without knowing our names and I think we should try and celebrate more festivals with them.
