Jabalpur engineering college,Madhya Pradesh:
The students of Jabalpur engineering college continue the legacy and the history of remaining among the top in social issues repeats itself. Students of Jabalpur engineering college in collaboration with Victoria hospital Jabalpur organized Blood Donation Camp on the campus yesterday. It began at around 9:00 AM and continued up to 5:00 PM with a steady stream of donors throughout the day.
First of all donors were asked to fill up a Registration Form, then they went through a thorough medical check-up of blood pressure, haemoglobin count and weight measurement. There was an arrangement for donors to lie down and recuperate for a while before they leave the venue. They were provided with glucose water and refreshments. The samples were carefully sealed and transported away, while the volunteers helped in the clean-up of the area, registration and clarified all the queries of the donors.
The donors received certificate of recognition and a memento. They also got a credit card where one unit of blood is available free from Govt. Blood Bank during the next one year.106 units of blood have been collected in the camp. In today’s scenario, only 50 percent of the country’s blood requirement is fulfilled through such blood donation camps. Hence, there is a need to create awareness amongst the youth for active participation in such a noble cause.
