International Conference on Analysis and Applications held.

ALIGARH December 29: The Department of Mathematics, Aligarh Muslim University, organised an International Conference on Analysis and its Applications (ICAA-2015) under the aegis of UGC-DRS (SAP-II). The objective of the conference was to facilitate a common platform for interaction, exchange of ideas and highlighting latest developments in the field of Mathematical Analysis and its Applications.

Prof R. P. Agrawal, Texas A & M University – Kingsville, USA graced the inaugural function as the chief guest while eminent mathematician Prof. H.M. Srivastava, University of Victoria, Canada presided over the function. Addressing on the occasion, the visiting guests highlighted the contribution of Indians in the field of Mathematics and applications of mathematics in different disciplines.

During the conference, two keynote addresses, one Memorial Lecture, seven Plenary Talks and sixteen Invited Talks were delivered by distinguished mathematicians coming from several countries and different parts of India. About eighty research articles were presented by the young scientists and research scholars.

Prof. H.M. Srivastava from Canada and Prof. R.P. Agarwal from USA delivered the keynote addresses. The Memorial Lecture was delivered by Prof. E. Malkowsky from Germany while the Plenary Speakers of the Conference included Prof. J.K. Kim from South Korea, Prof. Y. Ben Cheikh from Tunisia, Prof. Vatan Karakaya from Turkey, Prof. P. K. Banerji from Jodhpur, Prof. P. Veeramani from IIT, Chennai and Prof Rajiv Kumar from BITS, Pilani.

The valedictory session was presided over by Brig. S. Ahmad Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AMU, who in his address, urged the young researchers to focus on the application side of Mathematics and relate it to real life problems.

On this occasion, Prof. Mursaleen, Chairman, Department of Mathematics and Coordinator of DRS-SAP-II, Prof. Kaleem Raza Kazmi, Convener of the conference and Prof. Subuhi Khan, Co-Convener were also present.
