IGDTUW organized its 2nd annual cultural fest TAARANGANA’15

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women(IGDTUW) formerly known as IGIT ,organized its  annual cultural fest TAARANGANA’15 on 30th and 31st January 2015.After an exuberant first day, the second day of Taarangana – The Annual Cultural Fest of IGDTUW flagged off with Rangrezz – A folk dance competition. Vibrant colours and astonishing dance performances, along with remarkable choreography, left the audience spellbound. The competition saw a large participation from prestitigious colleges from all over Delhi. Mr. Gurmeet Singh and Mr Gireesh from Delhi Dance Academy (DDA), who adjudged the event, declared Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College the winner and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College as the runners up.The Auditorium was studded with girls and boys from numerous colleges dressed stunningly, all set to participate in Mr. And Ms Taarangana. The much coveted titles of Mr. And Ms. Taarangana were bagged by Yasharth (AIACTR) and Sonali (CVS) respectively.

Brightening up the essence of the fest, was the street play event – Aghaaz. The event was judged by Mr. Manohar Khushlaani, an eminent theatre person from IIITD and Ms Garima Dutt, who works for Zee Media. Aghaaz commenced with a common call for attracting the audience to the venue by Rahnuma – The Dramsoc of IGDTUW. Poignant acts by the teams enchanted the spectators.Knights of the Fall, or what some know as Battle of the Bands begun as the sky approached twilight. Enthusiastic participants and an equally zealous crowd, marked the advent of the competition. As the talented bands performed, the crowd hooted on, mesmerized.

The most awaited soirée – the Star Night, had the opening act was a performance by Turkush, followed by an enthusiastic cheer from the colossal crowd that had gathered. As Hardy Sandhu is being waited to rock, the stage.
