IEEE- Delhi Section Student Congress Inaugurated at Jamia Millia Islamia

IEEE Delhi Section Student Congress was inaugurated at Faculty of Engineering & Technology on Saturday. IEEE- JMI was the host of this event.
The inaugural session started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Then, Dr. Ahteshamul Haque, Senior Member IEEE, Branch Counsellor of IEEE- JMI welcomed the students and faculty members of various colleges, followed by a briefing of the history of Jamia Millia Islamia. In his speech he mentioned that the creation of Jamia Millia Islamia was a part of India’s freedom struggle against British rule. He also added that Jamia Millia Islamia is 95 year old educational institution offering education from Nursery to Research in various areas.
Dr. Rachna Garg of DTU informed the IEEE student delegates about sessions planned for the next two days. Prof. Mini S Thomas, Chair IEEE Delhi Section also briefed the importance of this Congress. Prof. Bhim Singh of IIT Delhi was the chief guest and gave a talk on how to write technical papers. Mr. Karthik, who is working as Chair Young Professional IEEE Delhi Section also addressed the delegates. The Inaugural session ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Vaibhav.
Around 200 IEEE student delegates from various engineering colleges of Delhi- NCR, Punjab, Rajasthan attended the event.

The congress was scheduled for 5-6 September, 2015.
