Guide to admission in M.A. Sociology in Jamia Millia Islamia

For the entrance of MA Sociology, you need to go through the syllabus of bachelors, in which the classical to contemporary sociological theory is the crucial part. Candidate should deeply clear their basic concepts including the various social institutions, Indian sociology, social research methods etc.
The thinkers and their contribution towards the discipline is most important part in any objective exam of sociology so, we suggest the candidates to focus on the key thinkers and their contributors as well the important books and their authors.
For the preparation, a candidate can take the help of Internet or IGNOU notes, as well the books available for NET JRF exams would be helpful to them.
 

Scheme of Entrance Exam

The question paper will be objective including the 100 MCQs with negative marking of 0.25 marks. Time given is 1.5 hours.
 
Selection will be on the basis of your marks scored in entrance exam.

Seats, Reservation and Fees

There are 40 seats in the course. Fee is INR 7000 for regular students. 50 % of the total seats are reserved for Muslim minorities which is further categorized as Muslim, Muslim Women, Muslim OBC. Apart from these, there are some additional seats for Resident of J&K, Migrants of J&K and children of employees.

 

Documents Needed at Time of Admission

For the admission process, you will need your High School and intermediate mark sheets and pass certificates, bachelors’ mark sheet, migration certificate, character certificate, TC and Blood group certificate. All the original documents will be collected and given after a couple of months.
