Gardener’s son elected St. Stephen’s College students’ union president

St. Stephens a college which is said to be college of elite class or high profile people.elite class in India can be termed as English speaking people,luxurious cars etc.but history has changed in 2014 as Son of gardener and a Hindi medium student ,Rohit Yadav has become president of college student union.This is the first time in the history of college that a Hindi medium candidate has been elected as president of student union.Rohit is the son of Harish Yadav, who works as a gardener in the college. A student of 3rd year BA Programme, Rohit has been educated in Hindi medium all through his student life.He defeated his rival by 140 votes.During his speech when he was addressing students Rohit spoke in Hindi and he campaign election in Hindi and the response was amazing from students.college principal Valson Thampu also felt happy at the moment and said its a proud moment for college.
