Friendship Day: A day for celebrating friendship

The first Sunday of August is each year celebrated worldwide as Friendship Day. A day which is celebrated, considering the valuable role friends play in our life, it was deemed to fit to have a day dedicated to friends and friendship.

There is not much literature on Friendship Day history but there are numerous folktales and several instance in mythological legends that shows that friends and friendship have been valued since the beginning of civilised world.

Now-a-days, Friendship day is beyond friendship bands. Today, friendship is a no profit and loss relationship and is beyond any relation and has an essence of soul. For some, a friend is a person to whom one can tell every bit of the routine, with whom one is’nt shy neither worry of being judged! For some, it is a treasure filled with love, sharing, care, quarrel and every emotion you require to live a life.
