Former law minister accused for submitting fake degrees

Former Law Minister of Delhi Jitender Singh Tomar, an Aam Aadmi Party leader was arrested on 9th June on charges of submitting fraudulent documents of his education degree. As per the sources, Tomar was a regular student of B.A. at Rajdhani college from 1985 to 1988 but according to his documents submitted before the Bar Council, he attended his B.sc. classes at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. He claims to have pursued LLB from VNS Institute of Legal Studies, Bihar which was derecognised by the govt. 8 years back. Now the police is investigating how he managed to receive LLB degree from such a college which is not certified. Police suspects the one of Tomar’s friend has helped him in providing fake B.Sc. and law degrees from UP and Bihar respectively. Now the internal lokpal of the party are waiting till Tomar’s questioning by the police ends and internal panel would put him in his own questionnaires. As per the sources, Tomar is also condemned by the top leaders of the party including the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. He may be expelled from his MLA seat of Tri Nagar. On the contrary, the party is targeting on NDA government for this mishap. They are alleging the BJP government that even after the completion of one year there is no fast track court to probe MPs, MLAs and ministers. They are stating that the center has not taken any step towards this direction and as PM is busy in his foreign trips, he has no time to probe his own ministers.
But passing the buck won’t make it. AAP has to take a serious immediate step towards probing the educational and character authenticity of it’s party members otherwise the whole team may come under the head of suspicion!
