Faculty Development Programme on “Mechatronics & Robotics In Manufacturing Industries’ concludes at Jamia

The two-week Faculty Development Programme on “Mechatronics & Robotics In Manufacturing Industries” organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia concluded on March 12, 2015. The programme was sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The Valedictory Session was graced by Dr. Alok Mukherjee, Joint Director & Head, Robotics Laboratory, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Pune. He talked about his latest technological developments, like Duksh & Netra, presently used by Indian army proudly.

The programme was intended for teachers from Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Departments and industry oriented researchers for up-gradation of knowledge and skill in the areas of Mechatronics & Robotics. The programme was organized to present the state-of-the art in the areas of mechatronics and robotics and its major application in manufacturing industries.

The topics included in the programme were – Introduction of Robotics, Mobile Robotics, Humanoid Robots, Micro & Nano Robotics, Robotic Grasping & Manipulation, Introduction to Mechatronics, Pneumatics and Electro Pnematics System, Hydraulic and Electro Hydraulic System, Mathematical modeling of physical systems, Image processing Sensors & Acutators, Digital Control Systems, SCADA & Fuzzy Logic, Micro controllers & their Programming, PLC’s & their programming using ladder logic CNC Machines & their Programming and MATLAB, CNC Motion and robot Simulation Software.

Eminent Professors and senior faculty members from IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and JMI as well as experts from industries and research centres had delivered lectures during various sessions of the programme.
