Enroll for BITSAT 2018 From December 19: Application Process Starts

Online application form for BITSAT 2018 is released on December 19, 2017. If you are interested in appearing for BITSAT 2018, you need to register on the official website – www.bitsadmission.com. The last date of filling and submitting the online form will be somewhere in the first week of March 2018.

BITSAT 2018 exam will be carried out in online mode only. Birla Institute of Technology Admission Test (BITSAT) is one of the most sought-after Engineering Exam of India, majorly due to the Institutes’ reputation and academic excellence it provides to its students.

It is a centralized university level entrance exam for admissions to the various undergraduate engineering and pharma degree courses offered at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani and its other campuses that include Goa and Hyderabad. The admission in these courses will be done through BITSAT 2018 only.

Filling BITSAT 2018 Application Form

If you want to fill the BITSAT application form, you need to visit the official website, and then click the link for BITSAT 2018 application form. Note that the application form is available in the online mode only. Please note that the offline mode applications are not accepted.

While filling the application form, you need to provide various details such as Name, Gender, Date of Birth, E-mail, Exam Center, Aadhaar Card and other details related to 12th class exams. In case you are appearing for class 12th in 2018, you need to provide the class 12th roll number.

Post submitting the form details, you will proceed to pay the application fee in either online or offline mode. The online mode of fee payment refers to pay through net banking, credit card or debit card.

Whereas, paying through offline mode means to generate the e-Challan online and paying the fee in cash at an ICICI bank only. Once after paying the application fee, you must take a printout of the acknowledgment screen of application form submission for the future reference.

Eligibility for BITSAT 2018

You must check your eligibility before applying for BITSAT 2018. To be eligible for BITSAT 2018, you should have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from any recognized board with the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 75% marks.

The candidates who are appearing in class 12th in 2018 are also eligible to apply. They, however, need to provide the proof of the qualifying marks (the mark sheet of class 12th with at least 75% marks) at the time of counseling.

BITSAT 2018 Application Fee

The application fee of BITSAT 2018 is INR 1700 for the female candidates and INR 2200 for the male candidates.

In case you select the examination center at Dubai, you would need to pay the US $ 50 as the application fee irrespective of the gender.

BITSAT 2018 Admit Card

The admit card of BITSAT will be released in the third to fourth week of April 2018 for the candidates who have successfully registered through the online mode and paid the application fee. The admit card will not be sent to the applicants through the offline postal form.

You will be able to download it through the official website by providing the authentication details such as registration number generated at the time of online application, date of birth and the Captcha text displayed on the screen.

The admit card contains information fields such as Candidate’s Name, Father’s Name, Photograph, Category, Roll Number, Exam Center and Exam Date/Timing. The admit card is a must for candidates for carrying to the examination hall.

The entry to the examination hall will be restricted in its absence. You must preserve the admit card throughout the admission process because it is required until the counseling stage.

BITSAT 2018 Examination Date

Since the starting date of BITSAT registration has been declared, you now might be thinking when will the exam take place. Well, the university has not declared an official date yet, but BITSAT exam is conducted every year in the month of May.

In 2017, candidates were allowed to book the examination slot in the third week of March 2017, and the online exam was conducted from May 16 to 30, 2017. The tentative date for the exam is between the second to fourth week of May 2018.

BITSAT 2018 Exam Pattern

The exam is conducted for the B.E. and B.Pharma. courses. It includes four parts – Physics (Part I), Chemistry (Part II), English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning (Part III) and Mathematics/Biology (Part IV).

You will need to choose the Mathematics part of the

B.E. course and Biology part of the B.Pharma. course. You will have to attempt 150 questions within the duration of 3 hours. The Part I and II contain 40 questions each, Part III contains 25 and Part IV contains 45 questions.

The questions asked will be objective type and there will be four probable answers for each question. For every correct attempt, you will be awarded three marks while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect attempt.

The most interesting part of BITSAT exam is the provision of additional questions. In case you will be able to attempt all 150 questions in 180 minutes (without skipping any), you would be given a chance in the computer itself to attempt 12 extra questions.

This gives you an opportunity to score extra marks and hold a great rank. Experts agree that the difficulty level of BITSAT is said to be at par with that of JEE Main, conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

To conclude here, BITSAT is very tough to qualify and there is a big fight for each and every seat. What raises the difficulty bar is the competition as over 2.1 lakhs students appeared in BITSAT 2017 to compete for only 2000 seats.
