E-CELL ON OUR MINDS

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies,New Delhi:

The entrepreneurship cell of IIT-Bombay launched the ‘National Entrepreneurship Challenge-NEC’ on August 23, 2014 with a view to promote entrepreneurship in various colleges of India by establishing e-cell in colleges. NEC includes a series of tasks, divided into four rounds, after which the top ten teams will be invited to IIT-Bombay for the ‘E-Summit’ on Jan 31-Feb 1, 2015.

The E-cell of ‘Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies’, a participating college under IIT-Bombay’s- NEC, climbed the ladder of success and reached to eighth position out of 107 participating colleges after the third round.The E cell of this college known as the ‘E-Cell MAIMS’, has 18 members from MBA and BBA, and has completed 28 tasks till now which include tasks like documentary making, advertisement script writing, conducting GD sessions in college, photography contests, etc.

The first round of NEC tasks included proposing of b-plans (known as ‘Eureka!’), had entries from outside India too. A plan from E-Cell MAIMS- ‘The BAMCOM’, which had creative ideas regarding ‘bamboo fibre clothes’ got selected among top 50 b-plans and reached the semi-finals.

E-Cell MAIMS has organised many enthralling events like Entrepreneurship carnival in which students in team represented their b-plans.  They even made documentaries related to some social issues and advertising uc browser. Whole concept is to enhance the overall personality of a student so that he/she can reach their zenith. “E-cell maims is established to provide platform to all the students of MAIMS so that they could fulfil their dreams” said Shiksit Verma, founder member of E-Cell MAIMS

“ E cell maims was started by us to enthuse entrepreneurship in our college as well as the country. The main focus is to seek out entrepreneurs by providing them the first step to climb the ladders for being successful.” said Kunal Thakur,Head of E-Cell MAIMS.

The last round of tasks in NEC is on the go with submission deadline on December 15, 2014, for which the results will be declared on December 20, 2014. The final round of NEC will be held in IIT-Bombay during the ‘E-Summit 2015
