DU Students’ Union Polls – AISA, CYSS team up

This would be the first time in Delhi University that Left Leaning All India Students’ Association will have the poll alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party’s student wing CYSS for the upcoming DUSU Polls.

The University Polls is scheduled to take place on September 12th.

According to the reports, AISA will contest on President and Vice President Post while the Kejriwal’s Student will have to Secretary and Joint Secretary Post to contest on.

The Delhi University Elections is one the most prestigious Elections of the Country. National Students’ Union of India and Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad have a stronghold in the campus and had two Post each in the last Elections.

The Alliance come in the backdrop of Anti Student Policies and with an aim to have a Revolutionary Student Union. The Political Discussion about the alliance was on the high note since the AISA Delegation met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of DTC Concessional Bus Pass.

Speaking on the development, AISA President Kawalpreet Kaur said ‘Both AISA and CYSS have been in Issue Based Politics unlike the NSUI and ABVP which is the focal point of the alliance’

While CYSS Delhi State President Sumit Yadav said ‘ Both AISA and CYSS are consistently working on student issues be it AC Bus Pass or any other. This Alliance is backed with Clean and Issue Based Politics and hence we joined hands’
